It used to be a rarity on consoles, but now multiplayer betas are all the rage. It seems every shooter has a multiplayer beta of some sort, with Call of Duty even throwing its hat in the beta ring with the successful Black Ops 3 multiplayer beta that ran a few weeks ago. It’s practically a given now that any major shooter is going to have a multiplayer beta, and that’s true for the upcoming Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End as well.
Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End will have a multiplayer beta that will be accessible by purchasing Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection in October. Now, thanks to a new trailer for The Nathan Drake Collection, we know when exactly the Uncharted 4 multiplayer beta will take place.
As revealed at the end of the new trailer for The Nathan Drake Collection, the multiplayer beta for Uncharted 4 will run from December 4th to December 13th. We’re not sure of any of the maps, weapons, characters, or match types players will be able to enjoy in the beta, so there’s still a lot of unknowns, but at least we know when we will actually be able to access the beta now.
As stated previously, those that want to play the beta for Uncharted 4 will need to purchase Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection. A PlayStation Plus membership is also required to enjoy the beta, so keep that in mind.
The new trailer for Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection, which reveals the beta dates at the very end, can be seen below. It does have a pretty heavy amount of spoilers for the first three games in the series, as it is meant more for people that have already played the games on PS3 and are looking to reexperience Nathan Drake’s original adventures before they play through Drake’s last adventure in 2016, as opposed to those that are discovering Uncharted for the first time. This new trailer for The Nathan Drake Collection shows off the games’ improved visuals even more, reaffirming that it’s not just lazy ports like some collections have been in the past. It’s awesome seeing these already beautiful games all run at a gorgeous 60 frames per second, and it makes us even more excited to see more of Uncharted 4, which is sure to look truly incredible if The Nathan Drake Collection is any indication.
Along with the improved graphics, The Nathan Drake Collection is also adding a new difficulty as well as new game modes. It’s unfortunately dropping the multiplayer component that was found in Uncharted 2 and Uncharted 3, but the other improvements still seem to make it worth the upgrade.
