While Nintendo didn’t give any more information other than the details letting everyone know that an announcement is imminent, it hasn’t stopped fans from hypothesizing what the company could be cooking up for the Switch that would be considered “a new interactive experience.” For instance, one theory postulates that new across-the-board features like “assist modes” for the console’s games are on the way, while another notion being floated by fans suggests the announcement could relate to new accessories and hardware. Perhaps it could even relate to this robotics patent Nintendo recently filed, but there’s no telling at the moment.

Whatever the case may be regarding Nintendo’s impending announcement, it definitely has fans busy with open speculations about what’s in the cards, and it’s undoubtedly exactly what the Big N wants to happen. After all, the contents of Nintendo’s reveal aren’t going to change in between now and the time of the announcement, which gives the company the ability to get a decent bead on the general consensus of what the fan base might want for the system later on down the line should today’s announcement be a disappointment.

The Nintendo Switch is available now.
