Final Fantasy 15 Royal Edition Leaks Via ESRB Rating

Final Fantasy 15 Royal Edition Leaks Via ESRB Rating

While Square Enix’s PC development persists for its port of Final Fantasy 15 on the platform, it looks as if fans on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One could be getting a new edition of the title sometime in the future. As it so happens, the ESRB recently published a listing for a “Royal Edition” of the title, indicating that the role-playing game might have a Game of the Year version in the works for consoles.

The ESRB rating for Final Fantasy 15‘s Royal Edition doesn’t offer much useful information in regards to what the product could be, with the description mostly reexplaining what the original title’s content contained. Nevertheless, most fans are anticipating this is Square Enix’s decision to give the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions “complete” editions that package the base game and all of its DLC.

Although Final Fantasy 15‘s Royal Edition and all of its materials have yet to be officially revealed by Square Enix, with all of the announced DLC episodes now available, it seems inevitable that the publisher and developer will confirm the product to be a GOTY edition. Sure, the game’s director Hajime Tabata recently said that he hopes to put out more expansion packs in 2018, but with add-ons focused on party members Gladio, Ignis, and Prompto having already been released, Square Enix will most likely be repackaging the game.

Taking all of this into consideration, with the ESRB having already given Final Fantasy 15‘s Royal Edition a rating, fans should expect it to release relatively soon. Of course, the original title’s PC version is set to release sometime in early 2018, so there’s no telling if their launches will coincide. If that ends up being the case, though, perhaps the PC version will eventually receive a Royal Edition as well.

Final Fantasy 15 is set to release for PC in early 2018, and is available now for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
