Yesterday, Bungie held its first livestream detailing the Destiny 2 Curse of Osiris DLC. While the stream showcased some of the content fans can expect from the upcoming expansion (including the new social space) it also hinted at a major change for one Destiny 2 weapon class.
On Twitter, Bungie’s senior gameplay designer Jon Weisnewski noted: “that Hand Cannon fire animation looks a little different.” One Destiny 2 fan was quick to provide a clip from the Curse of Osiris livestream, highlighting some dramatic changes to the way that hand cannons fire.
As it currently stands, after Destiny 2‘s hand cannons are fired the gun will flick upwards but the new animation makes the hand cannon push back, instead of pointing upwards. It’s unclear whether this new animation will be rolled out for all hand cannons in the game, but some preview footage for Curse of Osiris does feature the old animation.
Hmm that Hand Cannon fire animation looks a little different…
