As we reach the mid-point of 2012 it’s time to look back on the first part of the year and all of the games that released to either glorious fanfare, or relative secrecy. While the quality of products available in the first part of the year was a little lackluster when compared to 2011, there were still a few notable standouts — games that should definitely be played for one reason or another.
Gamers might have still been reeling from a 2011 that saw the release of some pretty substantial titles like Skyrim, Arkham City, and Assassin’s Creed Revelations. Hard acts to follow, but some titles boldly launched with the hopes of dragging players to even newer worlds. Many failed, but a select few were able to kick the first part of the year off right.
